PackBacker81 ... I dropped into an outdoor store and got the trimmings from their hunting dept. I got a handful of their trimmings (some CF and some alum) for zip, nada, zero. The trimmings were about 8" long and I cut them down to size.

Deucalion ... My oldest daughter's favorite color is orange, the brighter the better. So, her hammock is blaze orange. I will have to make sure she is hanging close during hunting season.

Shadow ... I am feeling pretty good. The hardest part is behaving and not picking up more than the Dr advised.

Another Ultra-Pod lover here. I have strapped it (folded up) on my raft frame to shoot video on last summer's river trips. It's such a versatile piece of equipment.

My wife called it a banana hammock when she saw it for the first time ... then realized what she said.

STinGA, Orange is my favorite color too (Happens when you are a Clemson Tiger fan)! Nice views. Kinda reminds me of Uchee Creek at Ft. Benning.

    Archery scraps

Of course! Why didn't I think of that? Guess you could probably find some aluminum scraps too; although I'd be willing to bet that it's easier to find carbon these days. Good tip for others who might be looking for toggle sources.
