Clark JH; TX-150 Proto Type - Heads up

Heads Up on a new Hammock from Clark Jungle Hammocks
    Alterations to the Tropical 2:
    Enter the TX-150
Funny thing . . . I have purchased enough Clark Hammocks,
that when I ordered this last one, a Tropical 2,
although I was looking forward to it,
I wasn't all that anxious for it to arrive.

But after talking to Spencer at Clark about . . .
"Have you thought of doing this to the Tropical . . ."
And him saying, "Yea we have thought of it . . .
    . . . but being very busy, we haven't had the time to devote to R&D . . ."

We talked at length and when we were done,
I thought cool, they will likely do some high level talks and one day . . .

So I get home that night to an email from Spencer, where he says:
Okay, so we’ve had time to talk about getting going on the Tropical (alterations)
. . . We think you’ll like what we’ve come up with to solve some issues.
We will have the prototype ready in a couple of days.
Here’s the question: Do you want your Tropical that you just ordered to be the new prototype to test?
    Let us know.

My first and immediate thought was 'well . . . yeeeeaaaa'

That was 2 or 3 weeks ago . . . and I have been on the edge of my seat the whole time.

    All the while some of you were posting;
"Well I pulled the trigger and bought . . . and now I wait"
And read through those, but I didn't think I should say anything about my order . . . well till now.

So it has arrived, and I am waiting for the weekend to do a test hang and take some photos.

Sitting on the edge of my seat . . .

I'd like to see a lighter/cheaper full size spreader bar model, w/storm shield but no outside pockets (rather just use a UQ).
I like the idea of the heavy duty fabric, simplicity of the spreader bar models, and the integrated storm shield.

I agree with Caribou on the outside pockets. You could cut out some decent weight by doing so and still use a UQ or Clark could offer a full length Z-liner as their branded solution. For me, the spreader bars hammock is great. I just don't find myself using the pockets that much. My pack hangs from my whoopie sling and hold everything.

It would also allow the NX series to be more tropical temp friendly.

Can't wait to see the pics and review.

Really want to see those pics! I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a clark, but determined I would be happier with an NX model and the weight scares me a bit. Does yours have the poles?

They are actually calling it the TX-250 and they are going into production with it and it will be available in camo and I have already pre-ordered one.

    Now for the wait.
