I read today that the tornado damage in the south has been rated by the federal government as "category one", which was the rating given to the damage level of the 9/11 attack and hurricane Katrina. Not exactly sure how this is calculated, but I know fro what I have seen in the damaged areas, it has been horrific.

The news casters have reported here that Camp Creek in Greenville, Tn. was rated an EF2 and Glade Springs, Va an EF3. Tornadoes are rated on the extent of damage using the Enchanced Fujita Scale.

Tonight we had prayer meeting for a lady in our church who lost her mother in the tornadoes. (As well as prayers for others of course, tornado victims and others.) Just something that is being repeated by the hundreds across the south.

I live just south of Birmingham. We are fine. A few miles north was hit hard. I know the news reports are getting scarcer, but there are still lots of hurting people in AL. Recovery will takes months, maybe years. Alabama Power and TVA had to start over in many areas, there was nothing to repair. I am truly blessed. I know of no one in my immediate circle who was injured or killed. I work with people who had damage, but only to stuff, not family. Many people here can't say that. Please continue to pray for them.

I sure hope the insurance companies don't play with the home owners so they can start to rebuild and heal soon. ShadowAlpha that was a heart wrenching pictorial thank you for doing.

+1 on that. Troop 3 in Pensacola is also interested in helping out an affected Scout Troop. Let us know if anyone knows of one who needs assistance.

This is a truly heart wrenching time, best of luck to everyone and I hope you are all safe. My heart and fake internet money* goes out to you.

    * I play an online video game called EVE that runs a Plex for Good: Storm Relief where I can basically convert fake internet money to real money donations, useful for a poor student like me.
