    HF members OK after Tornadoes???

Hope all are fine after all the sever weather/ tornados that have been happening and continue today. We had some high winds last night and are expecting more today along with hail and possilbe tornados to go with it. I am watching the Weather Channel and seeing all the pics of tornados and the damage. It's a bad situation.

    Hope all is well

The nasty stuff that rolled through N. Atlanta is moving through Augusta now.

I know there are several hangers that live in NW GA, where it was really bad.

also there is probably a lot of lines down and power outages, so try not to panic if they don't check in..at least not right away.KM

Friend of the family lost their daughter in Tuscaloosa last night, please remember the Mims family today as the deal with their loss, along with so many others in the same situation this morning. Death toll over 125 so far just in Alabama. Devastating!!

    Emergency Hang

I bugged out of my mobile home and went to a friend's house who has a basement. On the way were downed trees I had to navigate around and amazing lightning. After I got there the hale came and I thought it would beat the cars to pieces! That's when we all ran (about 7 of us) to the basement. Stayed the night and hung in the basement with my dog until daylight. Tornadoes and super cells were all over the Tri-Cities until the wee hours of the morning. So far 16 dead and they're still looking.
When I got home this morning all was well.

That was pretty close. Glad y'all are OK. Where is Holston Mountain Foothills?

We are fine here. All the tornadoes went either immediately north or south of us. The small town (near us) of Smithville MS is wiped out. 32 dead in MS so far, and it is starting to look like we got off light.

You know, they always tell you to get out of your car and get in a ditch. I did the opposite yesterday, getting in my car in Oxford and making a run for it as the warning siren had just started. But, we knew from TV which direction it was coming from, and I was going 45 miles in the other direction towards where it was all clear. But by the time I got home, the warnings were in Tupelo also. So we just hunkered down and prayed for others and ourselves and waited to see where they were going to hit.

I am going to have to spend the money on a storm shelter. But that won't help the millions who have no real shelter and won't help me or mine unless we are home.

I'm betting my favorite close by hiking trails are devastated. Trace State Park is about 6 miles west of me as the crow flies. One of the tornado warnings yesterday was with a tornado 1st spotted about 6 miles NE of there heading in a NE direction, so it probably already went over the parks backcountry.
