    Sweet trip. I haven't been back to Gila in a while. I think I might head up there this weekend or next.

    Wanna thru-hike this one

    At first I thought maybe you went with the Tucson meetup group, but it looks like you posted just as they were leaving.

    The Gila has been on my list ever since my wife and I went to the Cliff Dwellings a few months ago.

    Now if I can just get Shug to go with me on a thru of the Middle Fork....its only 50 miles! Think of it Shug, you could warm your cheese grits in the hot springs!

    I'm actually a hike leader with the Arizona Backpacking Club out of Phoenix. We have quite a few members from Tucson, too. A thru of the Middle Fork looks pretty awesome. Right now, I have my eye on the sections of the GET (#21 & 22) that follow the West, Middle, and East Forks of the Gila. Looks like good times to me!
