When I think of seatbelts, I think of a smoother and shinier finish than the "normal" polyester webbing we're using. If that is the case, will this make the seatbelt strap more likely to slip through SMC rings/CC buckles/JRB tri-glides?
Just a thought -- but no way to test it for now. Anyone have any experience with these 1" seatbelts yet?

I was going to order two 12 ft straps with 6" loops but the shipping was almost $10, bring the total to over $30.

I have both the 1" and 1.5" seat belt webbing from Strapworks.
I like the 1.5" better than the 1", but from what I got the weights of the 1" and 1.5" are almost identical. I think it was HC4U that got both also and in his batch the 1" was much heavier than than the 1.5". 0.4 oz/ft for the 1" I think as compared to 0.26 oz/ft for the 1.5" as with mine.
I don't use buckles (ring or cinch) and only use the webbing for tree huggers and so I like the smoothness and flexibility of the seat belt webbing. Light and packs down real small because it isn't so stiff. Also, the flexibility makes it easier to handle. That's why I like the 1.5" better than the 1" - the 1.5" is much more flexible than the 1" - so I get the full rated strength and less bulk for the same weight.
Somebody who uses the buckles will have to answer the question about how it works for them.

The 1.5" is great and packs small. I left about 4' with a sewn loop then doubled it over and sewed the rest together to make the remainder 3/4". My 1" seatbelt poly is heavier than my 1.5" as mentioned above.
Just got the following email from Strapworks:
Don't really understand his description for an inverted loop - anybody understand it?I just added the 1in seatbelt webbing in the simple sling. Will this
work for your purpose? It is lightweight and just about as sturdy as the
regular polyester webbing.
As for you question concerning the loops on the end: a flat loop would
be a simple fold over and a stitch. An inverted loop folds the webbing
over, then gives it a little twist which keeps the loop open and makes a
better opening for it to be looped through.
I hope that helps. Let me know if the 1" works. If it doesn't I'll try
to add the 1 1/2" to the site.
