    Hey Raul,
    Nice bit of gear.
You are the best dressed person in the piney woods that I have ever seen....!
My Mom would give me a lickin' for wearing them kind of britches in the woods.

lol yeah I know. I'm in the middle of some family affairs that is taking up a ton of my time. I promised Bloomgorge I would do a review and a video on it and 3 hours of my time opened up on Friday. I just did it in my work clothes before I headed out to handle other business... I luckily have about 1/4 acre of woods behind my complex to test out some hammock gear.

    some analysis

i thought i'd share some pretty photo's....the material is 6061-T6 aluminum which is the second strongest within the class trailing behind 6061-T651 which has one more step, stress-relieved stretched. and then you've got 7075 aluminums. so i couldn't help but figure out what failure modes i'd have under our loads and then test them dynamically to compare back to the analytical results. not too bad, the predicted deformation was about 0.3mm and the actual was about 0.76mm. I was allowing anything under 1mm without delamination or cracking. the stresses were a little high on the inner trunk but i contribute that to nodes within my mesh that could have been soften and I didn't radius the corner in the model.

    anyway...they're colorful

Really nice video Raul ... and spiffy bushcraft britches! Always like seeing your video reviews.

I am wondering about abrasion at the hook for the slings. Looks like a pretty sharp shoulder. Any thoughts?
When it goes over their heads, it really doesn't matter how high it is.

It seems fairly smooth to me. I'm not worried.

the edges where the whoopie loops over are broke with about 1mm radius and it goes through a tumbling process to deburr further and then finish to a semi gloss.
when breaking down the set up, the whoopie will hold the shape of the trunk but it also does with a carabiner and once stroked with your fingers or set up in a different position the whoopie will return. unless you hang in the same spot every night i might have concerns but there should be no fraying of the line.
if you have any other questions let me know...i'm happy to explain.

    take care,

    patrick
