Great alternative to MSH. My question is does that hole have a purpose? I see using it to hang gear.
"The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection."

Great video.... I have three sets, mine, GF, and spare.... Love Em.... Great job BG on the design...
the purpose of the hole is mainly weight savings
i have only used the hole in the trunk to attach tarps to but can be tricky because it can cause the tarp to be pretty close to the ridgeline and it's best to have shock cord as the attachment to accept the slack when you get in and out.
when i tested them i never exerted a side load when pulling on them axial. i don't recommend doing it as i never tested them in this manner but if done i would keeping the half hitch behind the trunk to prevent slip b/c the trunk may want to slide on the tree strap which would decrease even friction on the slots.
do that make any sense?
Received mine today. These look great. 15g each. Looking forward to putting them to use.
Great idea - I have been toying around with some ideas, just haven't had time. Similar to your concept, but it would be with two plates which would combine the hook features of the dutch clip, slots for a cinch buckle like AHE, with the hole for common use.
Ahh - we can dream right...
Definitely interested in your product - I will have to pick me up a set from you. Curious to if there is any abrasion when using the trunk on a closed loop of amsteel that is larks head to the hammock.
That's exactly how I used mine on the Traveler with adjustable webbing. Seemed to work fine...I'd wager the webbing clips are just as angled.
Report HERE.
I used mine to attach the UQ biners like THIS. I'd not push it too far weight wise but they are custom for the way I set it up.
No problems with fraying so far but I've only used them 4 or 5 times.
