    Help Deciding which Black Bird

    Alright,

So I have a full Hennessy Hammock setup (Exployer A-sym) with Over cover, 4 season kit, and Snake skins. I have a love/hate relationship with the bottom entry of my Hennessy hammock.

I am thinking about making the switch to the blackbird. I love the idea of the shelf and foot box. I personally feel it would give more room than the Hennessy hammock. I would like to try and get the same feel as far as fabric goes on the blackbird.

I am looking at the Blackbird Double Layer 1.0 or the 1.7 Double Layer. I would love to hear the thoughts of people that have made the switch from Hennessy to the Blackbird and your suggestions on the 1.0 and the 1.7.

    I am 6ft2 and 208 pounds.

    Comments and Suggestions welcome thanks

I think you'd be fine with either. I have a 1.1DL and I'm 185lbs and it's fine for me. The 1.7 might give you a flatter lay but I'd rather save the pack weight and go 1.1

do yo do a lot of backpacking or more car camping? I have the 1.7 dbl and absolutlely love it. I have not laid in any of the others such as a 1.0 or 1.1 dbl, but I have heard the the lay is not that much different. But i'd say if weight is not an issue, go 1 the 1.7 dbl

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

I do both car camping and backpacking. Weight is not issue for me either way when it comes to the 1.0 or 1.7

Hi Evitcho, I'm new to hammocks and just received a Blackbird DL 1.0. It seems to me that the main difference between the 1.0, 1.1 & 1.7 is the weight of the hammock itself and the weight limit that it can accommodate. For example, the DL 1.0 weighs 22.5/26.5 oz. and can handle 260 lbs. for $130, while the DL 1.1 weighs 37.25/31.25 oz. and can handle 275 lbs. and the DL 1.7 weighs 36.5/40 oz. and can handle 400 lbs. Both the 1.1 and 1.7 cost $175. So if you weigh 208, the 1.0 would be fine and costs less.

Alright I placed my order today for the WBBB DL 1.0 with adjustable webbing suspension. I look forward to trying it out on the 13 and the 14th of this Month. I will post pic's and a quick review. Thanks for the help
