Line-End-Biner

I don't know if this has been used before or not.

I did a test set-up today to finish adding lines to my new MacCat Deluxe.

I wanted lines for the side panel pull-outs that would be easy to remove without untying knots or using separate biners.

What I came up with are "line-end-biners". I suspect that I will find several uses for this.

The end knot is an Ashley Stopper Knot.

The slip knot is a variation I took from the style of trucker's hitch in this video. You need the long length of the line to form the slip (not the biner loop side).

It takes 2 1/2 or 3 twists in the loop to keep it from getting too tight to easily unlock. Clear as mud, right?

Cool idea. You could probably just as easy do a marlinspike hitch as the slipping portion? I'm going to try this when I get near some cordage - curse business trips (or maybe I could try this with my tie at the conference

).

It´s working, could get rid of my biners on the tieouts now.
Will try this on the first end of the continous ridgeline also since I have a biner there.

Thanks. A lot of the slip knots get too tight with a load and make the biner difficult to open. This one does not seem to have that problem, but time under load will tell.
