    Hello everyone!

Just a quick note to say hello after being away for two months. I only have a short time to check out the forums tonight, and hopefully a couple hours tomorrow. Then, who knows? Depends on what the AF has in store for me and how tired I am when they're done!

But it's great to see the forums chugging along, and all the new ideas still progressing. That's one of the frustrating things about being away from HF...not staying current on all the new innovations!

And special thanks to the folks who sent me PMs. Again, sorry that it took so long to respond, and I appreciate the kind words.

Of note, I do plan to take a hammock and some eyebolts with me while I'm overseas. Hopefully I'll have some studs in my hooch to hang it from...shouldn't be too difficult to find a drill. Last time it was in Iraq...not many Blackbirds have logged hours in a combat zone! Haven't decided which one to take this time...Blackbird is so comfy but I won't need a bug net. Hrm...decisions.

    What hammock would y'all take?

I was wondering where you've been. Glad you're back dude and get some rest. The most comfortable hammock I've laid in is the one I made myself. Maybe the pride in it makes it feel better.

Good to hear from you! Your tothewoods is a site I am always sending folks to to learn to stitch up a hammock.
    Thanks for that.

Into the armed forces? Dunno... Warbonnet seems appropriate.

One way or the other, thanks for all you do--whether it be forum or forces, the work is appreciated.
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

Haha - good point! But I wouldn't be hanging in any tactical environments...only in my hooch on base, which is pretty safe.

Thanks to you too, Shug...for sending people to the site (which badly needs to be updated again) and for all your videos and participation here.

And Fronkey (what does that mean, anyway) - my favorite hammock was one I made myself...most comfortable yet. But I put my heel through it one day in 2006 and had to give it a memorial. There's a thread about it here somewhere.

Haha - actually, the Warbonnet I have was donated to me by the members here after I got over there. The first time I saw it was in Iraq, and it had a camo BBO on it...one of the first prototypes before they were sold anywhere! HF has the best members...

    GT

No need for bug net? If it's not too cool I like my GT with lightweight whoopies, some AHE short straps, and if I'm hangin a tarp, Tarp Flyz (they're the latest buzz).

    Hi Jeff,
Glad your OK, didn't see you posting after the Co Winter Hang thought you might have been called to duty early.
Be safe over there I'm hoping to get to hang with you again one day.

You know since you won't be at the Colorado Summer Hang were going to tell all kinds of stories about you
