No hanging, but a nice hike

We took a little trip to Angel's Rest in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. It was a heck of a hike. Depending on what place you get your info, it was a 2.4 mile hike (uphill the whole way up there) with a 1400+ foot elevation change. Awesome hike, one of very few beautiful days we've had this year and got the wife and kids(5&7 years old) to go with me. They were troopers with hardly any complaining. There were several,"how much farther" questions from them all, but we all made it. Big difference to where I was at 1 year ago with heart disease, and really no shape for any kind of hiking. I'm back on track, beat heart disease, and my feet are healed enough to hike short hikes like this one. Might not seem much to anyone else, but a huge milestone for me. Enough chit-chat, here's some pics!

Thanks. A few from here did a hang there not too long ago. I didn't get to make it. Good thing though because I don't think I would have been up to the task. I'm getting over some foot problems. I did run with about a 25 lb pack today though. By mid to end Summer, I'll be ready to rock though.

    Angles Rest

Nice shots from Angels Rest. One of my favorite hikes in the Gorge. I will be on the east side doing the Cherry Orchard hike hope the Lupine will be out. Going to hang tonight then head east and hang in the Orchard. Will take pictures.

Great pics, I could almost smell the fresh air through the computer.

It's great that you are able to do things like this now, since you couldn't a year ago!

very nice pics, and I'm glad to hear your health is better.
