    Boo hoo!

I FINALLY went on a hike with a couple of friends (It's only been since, oh I don't know, June).
Brought along my big old redandblue lounging hammock, with the intent to spend a few minutes loafing down by the river at my favorite spot (the only spot I've ever found with appropriately spaced trees NOT festooned with poison oak)

Yes, there is no hammock between those trees.

The river (South Fork American River) is high and fast right now: it may not be easy to see in the pic, but the current even under "my" trees was fierce and fast.

For once in my life I was prudent, sat on a shady bank and watched the river instead.

    Piffle.

    Well spoken.

I feel for you...not being able to hang a hammock is especially bad when you already have the site picked out!

Looks like a nice spot. When the water recedes, I'm sure you'll be back to enjoying this favored place once again.
