Bridge Hammock hiking pole spreader bars

i just made my first bridge hammock and im trying to find a way to use my hiking poles as spreader bars I have the tip end figured out but im struggling on the handle i was looking at drilling a bolt into the top of the handle do you think it will work

what poles do you have? To get the compression force centered you really need to have a straight handle (pacerpole is a extreme exception, there you need to limit the force on the center).

Happy to see you're in C'ville! I lived there for a few years, a while back. Loved in the summer time to drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, leave the car and hike in temps that were easily 5-10 degrees cooler.
