I anticipate doing just that in Aug on the JMT. There will surely be some campsite where I do not have hanging options. My intention is to stake down the foot end, and elevate the head end with my hiking staff. I do not mind the netting touching my quilt, but am looking to keep it off my face. If I need to do this, I will be sure to take a pic for reference.

It isn't going to be a frequent thing in my area but like your hike you get some of those alpine meadows no trees . But still have skeaters to tend with the bug net will come in handy. I will have to play with in yard this weekend if it stops raining . Thanks for commenting .
