Not sure what the landlord is going to say yet. Bit worried about it! lol. I have never ever seen that much water in my life coming at me. It was like some emergency ER between me and my pop. The looks on our faces. I haven't told them about the hammock part yet. Just mentioned that I was trying to hang something up. The maint. guy seemed understanding actually. Maybe it was the fact that he was staring at two wet freaked out dudes. Wow wow wow. I am tired this morning. You know what. We get wiser everyday and if you don't laugh at this cra#.... it will drive you insane. My wallet is the only thing crying. Other than that.... whatever. Life is too short.
We will never conquer a mountain. The mountain allows us to visit and with enough time asks us to kindly go back down. And sits in peace with or without our presence.

WOW! Now, hopefully the weight of you in the hammock won't pull the 2x4 studs out of the wall!

I guess the potential of this sort of thing is why I have never even tried to hang inside except when I have dragged my Vario stand inside first! Which in fact I did again just recently when my wife made her annual visit to her cousin! But it sure makes for better sleeping than my back yard, where it is always just too hard for me to either fall asleep or to easy to be awakened by some noise.

I'm guessing you can kiss that security deposit goodbye.

Hope you were on the ground floor so as not to flood the neighbors below.

I'm torn on this one. My love of hammocks says its all part of trying to achieve hammock bliss, but since I'm an apt. maintenance man I can just think what I would be saying at midnight after a emergency call like that. The closest I have come to that was a ceiling fan pulled out of the ceiling a few months back when a kid tried rigging a bed sheet into a hammock. After making repairs and talking to her dad she now has an Eno and hammock stand in her room.

After busting everything up she gets an Eno AND a hammock stand? Hmmm, methinks I feel an idea brewing... now, where are those darned sheets?
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

After reading this the 80 bucks I spent on my stud sensor seems cheap compared to that repair bill picked it up at Lowes and it let's me know if there is eletrical or plumbing in the wall

Yeah, really funny. Except for the landlord, and any other apartment into which water invaded as the water main flooded the building, and the inconvenience to all the other people in the building who had to go without water. It never ceases to amaze me the stupid things people do when they try to be handy around the home.

You should have thought about where you were going to drill, and you also should ask the landlord's permission before drilling into 2x4 studs ANYWHERE in your rented apartment. I hope, for the sake of forcing you to learn an object lesson you get billed for all the repairs.
