    Newbie asks TQ/UQ question

Is it advisable or not to put TQs/UQs in a compression sack?

When hiking with them, yes. Stuff them in and then set them up at camp. While they're not being used, no.

If you are asking will it hurt the quilts or down inside, IMO it will not.
Long term storage compressed is not recommended.

There are pro's and con's to using a compressor sack.
A pro of course is that you've reduced the volume of your quilts to their smallest.
A con is some light weight backpacks have very little back padding or support so a hard lump would be very uncomfortable.

I use a compressor sack on my quilts and spare clothing when I am unable to get all the gear in my backpack for a particular trip.
My pack does not suffer from lack of support or padding and with a compressor I can get my quilts to pack horizontal in the bottom
    totally filling that space.

If the trip does not require compression sacks, meaning I can get everything in the pack with out compressing it
I just use regular water resistant stuff sacks. My goal is to fill the pack
so items will not shift around when scrambling.

    It's good to have choices.
