More than good enough for me, Shug. I'm all about eyeball measurements, I just needed a ballpark... Now to sack up and order some CF.

OES micro here..... once you get better at using a tarp and site selection it's very easy to get by with a small tarp

i use a DriDucks Poncho with the Undercover mod to protect my underside alittle better .....
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

I have to own up to laziness and lack of knowledge on the hanging stuff.

I opted for the hex upgrade when I ordered my HHED, so that I'd have plenty of coverage.

I like the idea of having a "porch" to sit under if the weather is bad during the day.

For me, it's worth the extra weight to ensure the extra comfort. I don't do much long range hiking when I camp...typically only a few miles/day.

Still debating between Brian's Standard or Micro. Under them I have a WBBB and DIY gathered-end. I'm not experienced at setting up the tarp yet... hmm... decisions decisions.

My current hammock when hung, is exactly the same length as my 3x3m tarp. With the doors on the tarp, its working out to be just about the right length.

Syb, they're both great tarps. I have a standard and know quite a few people with the micro. I wouldn't want the micro to be my only option for rainy, especially wind blown rain weather. That's why I opted for the standard. I can always get a micro later. I've seen a micro in fair heavy rain and it was plent suffient though.
