    Another Hello from Wisconsin

Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here at Hammock Forums. I have been on the forum for a few months now, because of a chance meeting of JerryW up in the Porcupine Mountains. My girlfriend and I where up there for a weekend backpacking trip and due to timing and spacing of back country sites we ended up sharing a site with JerryW and his friends. (total strangers at the time)

I have been backpacking for a number of years now, and more specifically lightweight backpacking for the last couple. While sharing the campsite we got talking....and long story short....JerryW told me about this forum and about hammock camping in general.

Anyway...come Christmas... I received WBBB dbl 1.7 and the first time I got to try it out was up in Munising MI during an ice climbing trip. Temps got down in to the teens at night and we were surprised over night with about 12" of new snow. I spent much of my night waking up to knock the snow of the tarp. I ended up using my gossamer gear siltwinn tarp, 1/4 gossomer gear pad with a exped down mat, 20 degree down sleeping bag (used a quilt). As I always do, I slept in all my layers minus my down coat. Never got cold, I wouldn't say I was warm, but again never got cold. Nothing like breaking into hammock camping subtly. I completely loved it. I can't admit to jumping in to hammock camping in winter all by myself, it was with the help of this forum, shug and grizz's videos etc..

Here are some pics...sorry they are a bit grainy, I took them on phone since I forgot my camera.

    Matt
