    whoopie toggle and webbing question

I want to switch to whoopies and have two quick questions. I have heard that you can use wood(sticks) as toggles what about deer antler? I have a shed that I am using to make a knife handle out of and got to thinking, hmmm these extra parts might make cool whoopie toggles, should they work? I was also wondering is 1" poly webbing the best to use to make my tree huggers?

    Thanks

The antlers will work just fine as in theory the WS sits on the knot and not on the toggle.

That would look neat. Post some pics if you use the antler-toggles! I'm sure it'll work just fine as long as you heed Shug's advice as listed above.

Why do I hear your voice saying "on the knot and not the toggle" over and over.... ah, the video we played at MAHHA all day!!! Big hit by the way, especially with the kids!

I use 1" webbing seem to work great, very little stretch.

Just love your idea using deer antler for toggles. What about drilling a small hole in one end and adding a small line to tether it to the strap so you don't have to keep track of them?

Yes, good idea using antler as toggles! I've been thinking of using deer antler as toggles for a while. There's a deer head and rack at my aunts house and she said I could have it so I might make some and PIF or sell them since I use ET's instead of toggles.
