    Newbie Grandma here....

There's a forum for hammocks? Awesome!

I'm here because I am searching for a macrame or woven pattern for hammock chairs. We have 8 grandchildren and one hammock chair - the # of chairs MUST be increased!

I hope someone can help me out finding patterns.

I have a rope (store bought) chair now, had a finer thread type chair previously and prefer the finer thread type.

It's amazing how quiet the kids can play when they have a hammock chair to swing in!

Oh boy, did you ever come to the right place. I don't know if there are any macrame experts here, but you're sure to get interesting opinions

PS - watch out though, these guys and gals will not only have you in a hammock chair, but in a brand new Warbonnet 1.7 double blackbird hammock and matching tarp in no time

sorry I can't figure out this crazy scanner and this web site no longer exists. I will post these on a main thread at a later point. It's not much. I found this 8 years ago?

You might try this There also seem to be some regular hammock patterns as well.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm going to try to post a picture of "something" like I'm looking for:

    http://reigninggifts.com/images/prod...330_small2.jpg

The above is considered a "rope" chair. I have something like this but find it a bit tough, hard, bumpy for the little ones (grandkids). I had one that was constructed of a much, much thinner thread/rope - probably more like a Mayan type.

Does this help describe what I'm looking for?

Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I'm thinking the bushman/yukon chair would be much quicker; if you need the 'chair' design just build a mini-hammock and hang it from the single spreader bar.
for the $ and time you would spend making 8 of these in macrame, would be considerable... nylon gathered ends would be much easier and probably cheaper. Just saying.
KM(who has done macrame, and does not have the patience for a belt much less a whole hammock..)
