    Hammock for claustrophobic significant other

What suggestions do you experienced "hammock collectors" have for a mosquito protected system for someone who tends toward the claustrophobic side of things ?

I currently have a WBBB and love it. However, the netting when zipped up is not quite as separated from the sleeper as the spouse might like.

This will most likely only be used for car camping or backyard use so weight is not a huge factor.

    I appreciate any advice.

Yep, without a doubt the Switchback is one of the most 'open' netted hammocks out there. I love the fact that you basically have a clear field of view from the hammock without lifting your head.

You could always go with and ENO DN and a DIY bugnet..........run a ridgeline on the ENO, get some no-see-um netting from Hancocks or JoAnnes that is the length of the hammock and then just drape it over the ridgeline. When she is in the hammock and feels the "walls" closing in she can just lift the head to curb the fears.

Sorry I don't have a picture of the SB with the net zipped. But you can see how high it is pulled away from the hammock in this picture.

I went through the same thing with my wife. She got claustrophobic in my WBBB. At the MAHHA hang, she tried the Switchback and loved it. She really liked the open feel and tall "ceiling."

Thanks for the picture and suggestions. I think I'll have to give the switchback a try. Both sides unzipping up and out of the way when needed is a good selling point.

That along with the biggest tarp I can get my hands on may be the ticket.
