Gauley River WV Sept 2011

Seeing if there would be any interest in a September hang in the Fayetteville/Summerville area of WV... Would like to coincide this with the dam releases on the Gauley River. Thinking car camping for the most part and for the more adventurous a ride down the Gauley River. For those of you who haven't heard of the Gauley River it is one of the best white water rides in the east...Here's a short video...

There are several excellent outfitters in the area and several trip options down the river starting with the Lower Gauley, which is pretty fun to the Upper Gauley which is a crazy white water ride....

Would love to say "Hell Yeah!" . . . but unfortunately that will be right in the middle of studying for the Civil PE exam

We'll keep this informal for now till until early July. September 16-18, 2011 is Gauley Fest, countries largest whitewater festival. We might want to avoid that weekend, I made the mistake of booking a trip and it was a zoo....

Here is the dam release schedule for 2011.... if we're gonna raft it would be around these dates....
