So I'm nearing the end of building my first DIY hammock (will post pics when done), and I'm planning to build a sack to store it in next. I'm looking to do a bag, either blackbishop style (hole in one end) or double ended. I'm wondering what the pros and cons of each style are. Any suggestions?

The double-ended ones are fine, but what I like about the Bishipbags is that I always know which end is which without having to mark an end, or tie something to it to identify the end. Bishopbags are quick, easy, and my preference.

I like the fact that it's a bag. I can use it like a shelf when the hammock is deployed. When I'm stuffing my gear I don't have to worry about the other end opening. To each their own though and all that...

I use both the Bishopbag and the double ended bag.
- An advantage to the double ended bag is that I can put the tail of the suspension in the bag without having to loop it around to the top
- I use different colored strings on my double ended bags so I know which is the head
- My next bag will be a double ended bag. I am going to test a large double ended bag that will fit my tarp, hammock, and suspension. (Pondering one that will also fit my under quilt but not sure I like my dry under quilt next to my wet tarp.
- I will continue to use my BishopBags. They are just too simple

is with the WBBB I just received this week. I use Camp Nano 'biners, and color-code them with gold at the head end and silver at the foot. I just leave the gold one clipped to the edge of the bag so I can see which end is which.
BTW, I also have the same strap & buckle setup on my HH and CJH, so the color coding has already sunk into my feeble brain.

My T to T Switchback hammocks uses a bishops bag. The exposed whoopie is always coming untied from around the hammock and drives me crazy.
Since you are DIYing it.
My suggestion, make a small pocket to stow the exposed strap.
Yes, the original BlackBishop bag has a mesh pocket on the end for your straps and the suspension on that side... the other side's suspension goes in the bag.

Bishop bag for me !
It's sounding like either could work, but the bishop bag may appeal more to me as long as I include a pocket for the end of the suspension that goes thru the hole, since I wouldn't have to be concerned about that end coming open. I will have to figure out a good way to keep the hole from fraying.
Anyone know where the original instructions reside (that includes the pocket)?
