    Oklahoma City metro newb...

When I say newb, I mean really, seriously new. I've never even SEEN a hammock (this kind, anyway) in person but just the idea of it get's me excited about camping and hiking again. I've been pretty much completely burnt out by sleeping on the ground, trying to keep crap out of my tent, sleeping bags, and gear, etc. 5MinuteMajor is my best friend and his first DIY experience has simultaneously introduced me to and pushed me over the edge of hammock camping. I'm fixing to start my own DIY and get this thing rolling. All of my actual backpacking/hiking/kayaking experience came as a young teenager and camping has turned into a synonym for "drinking beer with buddies" and I'm excited about getting back to actually enjoying the outdoors and the sport of it. I'll be lurking around, stealing ideas without contributing anything useful for some time!

Welcome to HF from Bama...........If you think your excited now, wait till you get the hammock finished and have others ask you: "where did you get that hammock?" You can replay, "I made it myself!" That is a true joy moment!!!!!!

Yeah, for all intents and purposes. There isn't much urban separation between OKC and Moore, Del City, or Edmond anymore.
