I have a treklite double hammock, does anyone here use a blanket as an underquilt in this? In my climate a yarn quilt is enough to keep warm but it's a pain to get situated. I'm lookin for tips or tricks.

Nice low cost idea. It'll be interesting to see the responses

Good Luck, but I would get a real underquilt. Or use a sleeping bag. Or a pad.

I would get an actual underquilt but I live in central texas and I can't justify the cost for a month or 2 of use. Also i'm just getting into this hammock thing so right now cheap is key.
You could easily re-purpose an old blanket for this. You could put shock cord with locks in the head and foot ends of the blanket by folding the blanket edge over and stitching it to make a suitable channel. Then, you could run longer cords along the sides (folded over edges like the head and foot ends). I'm envisioning something like Shug shows us on his Hudson River JRB UQ (link: http://www.youtube.com/user/shugemery#p/u/2/D9N3KkV5Zf4). See this example about 1:00 minute in.
My best to you! Snap a couple of pictures of what you end up with.

I have been actually putting it inside in place of a pad, I think the clips may work but used in reverse. To keep the quilt layed out and not sliding to the middle.
I have to say, as i'm getting more comfortable with the light weight material i'm having a blast with this hammock. I wasn't real confident with it's strength i'm not a small guy. The nights have been so perfect for sleeping lately my wife's starting to think I don't like her anymore. I'm strung out on the porch
On second thought I bet a 10$ sleeping bag with the zipper cut off and some shock cord to tie it with will work out. I'm going to get the stuff tomorrow and give it a try. Just a little something to cut the breeze.

Well I got the sleeping bag but found no need to modify it. I just zipped it around the hammock and was actually too warm last nite sleeping in shorts and a t-shirt. I just wish I could find a bag about 7 1/2 feet long and maybe a little wider
