Good luck tonight...it's great to know that budget gear can hold up to the challenge.

Hope to meet you in January...can you make it?

    Neo,

I went to 13 degrees last night with my North Face Fission bag (2lb 6oz) wrapped around the hammock and Marmot pounder (1lb) used as a top quilt. No pads. I was toasty when I got out at 3am because the dogs were barking too much to sleep. I wanted to stay in and go for single digits but with the dogs barking and having to at work early I will have to wait for the next cold snap in Tennessee

    neo,

do i understand correctly? you got to 9* on just a cut-down army closed cell foam pad? one of those stiffish green things with the tie straps, right? how'd you do that when i have a similar foam pad, an underquilt, and was getting cool at 28*? what might i be doing wrong? or is it possible my slow metabolism (and i do sleep cold) is to blame... still seems like a huge difference... almost 20*...

    suggestions anyone?
