Been lurking about for a bit and even posted a few times as well. So I figured I should properly introduce myself. I've only ever hung in cheap cord woven hammocks while camping and slept in one for about a week many years ago while in high school when the house was over flowing with out of town relatives. But it still never dawned on me until about 6 months ago that one could comfortably camp in hammock alone.
So a bit of poking around on the interwebs brought me here. Like most new people I've been reading everything I could find, sifting through the multitude of photos, watching the awesome videos. (Big thanks to Shug, RamblinRev, and Grizz especially.)
So I'm finally ready to take the plunge. Unfortunately I'm what you might call finacially challenged so the expense of a HH, WB, Clark, et al is out of my reach at the moment. Therefore I'll be taking the ever popular DIY path towards hammocking nirvanna. I hope to post pictures of all my gear as I make it and even hope to pick up the last bits and pieces I need for my first hammock today if all goes well.
So till sleeping on the ground feels as soft as the clouds I'll be hanging in the trees.
