I heard about this new material from Cubic Tech. I'm glad you're using it, because I think a tarp that reflects the sun is much needed. I find even a colored silnylon tarp doesn't provide enough shade if the sun hits it directly. Have you tried pitching your tarp with the aluminized surface out? I've thought of making one to use shiny side out for summer and shiny side in for winter. Do you think that would make a difference in reflectivity?

Your sale price is tempting. I hope that means we'll have some user reviews of this tarp soon.

The nature of the material and how its colored allows for the reflective bottom to show through the top to some degree so essentially it does exactly what your talking about. I am sure if you flipped it over it would reflect even more light but it already reflects quite a bit as is.. If you look at the photo on the first page there is a very defined shadow below the tarp. You will never see this with a stand cuben tarp.

Good inquiry...as tarp materials gets lighter and lighter still, 4-season as a go-to makes more and more sense to me...I also wish the pigmentation was less transparent...that said, this reflective property might have some promise...

I might be able to do a deal if I can find a few interested parties so I can do a mini production run. I would need to build 4 of them at a time though. So if four people are interested in a 4 season model I will entertain an introductory deal.

Count me as interested with a great introductory deal. 3 more?
I have been looking at this since he showed his first one. Great looking tarp with attention to detail.

Customer service is excellent and I have always been able to get a response to PM's and emails.

IMO if you are getting a cuben tarp you might as well get the 4 season for the weight difference.

I've actually been checking the store every other day (ok, every day, sometimes more than once) for the 4 season to become available, so you can count me in on one of these.

FastBryan is also interested. I built him a 4 season model using the normal cuben about a month back and he is now interested in this new material for sun protection. He is going to sell the first one so if anyone is interested you could try contacting him and if you cant get ahold of him you can contact me and I will contact him. So thats 3 interested people. One more and we have a mini production run. I have to build these in lots of 4 because the material comes stacked four layers on top of one another rather then normal cuben which is a single layer. Eventually this will be a stocked item but it will be a little while before that happens.

    Thanks,
    Lawson

Depending on price, I might be interested in one of these fantastic featherweight four-seasons. I think that makes a four pack...
