Ok, so I got my hammock, ordered my tarp, picked up a poncho liner for a diy UQ, and now I am asking myself if I picked the right suspension. I have the ENO Slapstrap Pros, but I'm thinking of replacing them with whoopie slings. would this be a good tradeoff? The weight isnt an issue, its more an adjustability and space saving thing.

Change them. The eno slaps are famous for stretching (end up on the ground).

Further to that point, whoopie slings are a common upgrade. I'm using stock HH suspension with tree straps, and I'm replacing it with nacrabeiners and whoopie slings. Weight, space, and most importantly ease of set up.
Thats great to know. $25 rubber bands? how do whoopie slings hold up for heavier guys? I weigh around 250.

They will support you. Just mind where you hook up on the toggles. The sling goes over the knot, not the toggle.
Whoopee slings are made from 7/64" Amsteel Blue which has a tensile strength of something like 1400#. You'll be fine. You're also going to need tree huggers to use with the whoopies.

i just bought a set of JRB triglides and the web straps for em. i yanked the rope and old biners off and tossed a set of BD neutrino biners in the channels that will hook straight into the web loop. im not a ultra light guy, and i do like webbing (and not having to worry about bouncing and breaking the toggle since most are fragile) so i think ill have a nice, easilly adjustable suspension thats still lighter than slapstraps and the old setup.

Easy to make. I did a few for practice and I plan on making a dozen or so when I get my amsteel in.
