    New From Almost Heaven WV!

Hey everybody, about a month ago I had never heard of hammock camping till by brother told me about the Hennessy he was getting ready to order. So I had to be a little different and go the ENO way. I have got to sleep in my hammock about 3 nights now and I will never go back to sleeping in a tent. I currently have an ENO double nest with a Guardian rain fly and next paycheck Im looking at getting a ProFly ( budget is tight when your a college student). With in the next month im gonna gut all the heavy carabiners on my hammock and put aluminums on with some lightweight high strenght rope to cut down on weight. Im pretty excited I found a place to talk about this new passion. If anyone has some tips for a beginner then let me know! Thanks have a great day.

    Another welcome and a PIF

Welcome again from yet another WV hanger. PM me your address and I'll send you some Amsteel whoopie slings. For tips, there are great videos by Shug and Griz ("Professor Hammock"). Also, just ask questions on the forum as they occur to you.

Dale Gribble: I'm thinking, "new hammock." For me, laying and swaying in a hammock is like a steady morphine drip without the risk of renal failure.

Randy : yea but just remember yer roots and where ya come from....you got Hennessy in yer blood son......

    Welcome aboard neighbor!

I think it all depends on your budget and what seasons and weather types you will be camping in. Im not really an ultralight guy. so Ive been thinking about a mac cat deluxe with 2 panel pulls or maybe even there 4 season tarp. I enjoy having something to sit under and cook and hang out in
