Cool Ideas for a suspension system? Really New to this!

I've had my Eno double nest for about a month and camped out in it numerous times. Heres whats up, I really dont like the carabiners (heavy steel ones) that came with it and I want to use a lightweight strong cord(rope). Also I want to be able to do quicker setups with easier adjustments. My trouble right now is that I can see in my head what I want to do, I just dont know how to do it.

I use my stock hennessy suspension but with a garda hitch. the most popular thing to do on here is whoopie slings. some of the masterminds behind it will chime in im sure

Sounds like what you want are nacrobiners. Several people here use them in their suspensions, just do a search and I'm sure you will find references aplenty.

    Part III:

Consider marlinspike hitches to replace those carabiners.

Don't forget to check out Shug's videos, too.

No hard feelings, I myself have been looking for an alternitive system for my dbl, as I am new to the hang as well. I Made my own tree straps from 2 10ft sections of webbing with a loop sewn in the end. To attach, I just make the marlinspike hitch knot, and clip my carabiner to the knot. It self tightens, and 3 days later, when I pull the carabiner out of the knot, I simply pull the free end of the strap and it comes right out. I like the system I have, because I can easily adjust where it hangs (like a whoopie sling) but without having the fuss of attaching a toggle and making sure the whoopie is seated right. Im thinking about taking the rope and biners off, and just running alum. biners through the end channel.

HUH? Is this an actual question? Really? There must be 30,000 words written about the specific answers to your question. It's kind of the purpose of this board. And if you go off this board there are other sites that also have many tips, tricks, and pointers.

I have recently gone back to straps and cinch buckles on most of my hammocks. I am finding the weight to only be an once or so heavier for the whole system compared to Whoopieslings but even simpler to use. No knots, not even a marlin spike hitch. Simply wrap the free end of the strap around a tree and attach w/ biner or dutch clip, then pull strap to adust length. Done...
