My Amsteel 7/64 has red/green line in the center

Just got my Amsteel from Redden. Got 40' of green and 40' of silver both in 7/64's. The silver has a thin, almost silk like thread through the center of it in green and red. Did I get something else by mistake?

I cut my piece to make my first whoopie out of it and just pulled the thread out of the center (comes out pretty easy).

Anyone else get Amsteel with this thread down the center?

    Thanks
    Andy

Well this is the best place to ask about Amsteel.

I have never gotten any Amsteel with thread in the center, so I can't comment on it. It doesn't sound quite right.

It's amsteel, I think it's to show it's the real deal - just remove it. I got it in my silver on the BCUK group buy.

The puzzling piece was that the green I also got did not have it. I will build on with confidence.

Oh, and for those ordering from Redden, their green isn't "outdoursy/adventure/cool" green, it is more like the sweet 80's invention "teal".

I am going to need to grow a mullet and get some acid washed jeans and a tank top before I can legally use this stuff.

Andy, I had that thread down the center of my green 7/64 Amsteel. Looks like a mix of that teal green and a maroon color. Tried making my Whoopies with that thread in there and it was a real bummer. Hard to work and the threads kept sticking out. (Looked nasty.) Finally got fed up and yanked the thread out. Slings moved MUCH faster after that. And they are holding just fine so far.

Yep. I got an order from Redden on Wednesday and it had this too. I just pulled it out before making my whoopies.
