Thanks for sharing, Mac. My son and I saw spots we went last June but it looker cooler (weather wise) in your video. We laid in the river after coming down Pinch In on a HOT, HUMID day. Glad y'all had a good time.

That's a great video, Mac! Thanks for the memories! What an incredible trip with an incredible crew in an incredible place! Did I mention it's incredible!
I'm on my way home tonight. Last night, Shug, Hickery, TZ, Stormcrow, fin and myself camped at the bottom of Devil's Hole. It was the perfect way to cap off my week in the Big Ditch. What a beautiful trail.
Shug, Hickery and TZ were doing one more route up north for a couple more days. I'm beat! I definitely need to be in better shape for the next one.

Our route was this:
Started at Table Rock, took Mountains to Sea Trail south past The Chimneys and Chimney Gap, then up onto Shortoff Mountain to the Water Tree. We camped at a site between Water Tree and Gully Pipe.
Next Day, down MST on the south end of Shortoff, to the river crossing, then up and down hill on the MST to the Leadmine Trail, which took us to the river again. We hiked up the Linville River Trail to a site just beyond Pinchin and hung for the night.
Next day, a short 3 mile hike to Camp Conley. Stayed for two nights, then took the LRT up to Babel, with a two hour bushwack detour to the river below Babel. We exited the gorge via Babel trail and ate at Louise's. Hung that night in an undisclosed location. Awoke to the Whip-poor-will and ate at Louise's the next morning, then shuttled cars over to the east side, and I went home.

Great video!
Good to see Stormcrow taking a break from making awesome gear and doing some hiking.

Great video, everything looked amazing, and it seems you guys had a great time. Can't wait till I'm able to join people for some time in the ditch.

Mac, thanks for the route. It makes me want to go back and see more of the gorge. Next year I'll try to do it when others are going to be there too.
Mac, I got home Thursday Night. Always good to hang with you. The wild flowers were popping everywhere you looked. I believe the white flowered shrubs were Mountain Myrtle.
It was a great time with a great bunch of fellows. Can't wait to go back.
Here's my pics.
