Hanging in a thunder storm video

I got home yesterday with alittle daylight left to hang a hammock for a "back yard sleep out hang"

I decided on hanging one of the Hennessy Scouts,,,

The weather forcast called for thunderstorms.......

Got the Scout hung, and the tarp hung,,,, on the stand. With the forcast, I hung the tarp low on the hammock.

Bout 1am, the storm blew in....... just thought I would share, A few drops blew in from the ends,, but the hammock and me stayed dry,,,,,come morning, the only thing wet was the tarp. No Wicking down the suspension.

Now that was a kinda cool vid

I liked the rain dripping off of the side of the fly . . .

and the sound . . . could make a mooooood sound tape of the rain . . .

I weathered last nights storm in my backyard in order to test out my new tarp. First time in the rain for me in a hammock. It was awesome!

I was all set to hang in the storm too, radio man said, "60-70mph gusts, and hail possible ", so I chickened out. I've road out storms before; no reason to intentionally risk my (wifes) new Maccat.

Spent Sunday night in a thunderstorm. I loved it. I was cozy and dry in my hammock, with my tarp pitched nice and low. Looking forward to getting a little more coverage than the stock fly so I can get out in some real nasty.
