    I've used a bit of bug screening and wore a hat with a (soft) brim to hold the netting away from my face. It wasn't perfect, but I remember listening to the swarms of mosquitoes on the other side and feeling really glad I had the netting. ( I don't usually have much trouble with them, but sometimes hiking in NH I run into heavy concentrations of the buggers.)
