shower curtains are very flimsy and tear very easily.... first set of strong winds and you will probably suffer some major damage to the tarp.
you are better off buying some light weight blue tarp from a hardware store, will probably cost about the same...
i was told about a guy who hiked the entire AT with a shower curtain as a tarp... i remember as a kid i used one for a tent in the back yard.. will they last a long time ..No
would i trust it in a really bad wind/rain storm .. No
but can you use one... sure
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
I remember trying to use old shower curtains to waterproof forts when I was a kid. Didn't hold up very well.
I also remember devising what I was sure was a fool proof plan to exterminate a yellow jacket nest near one of said forts.
The nest was in the middle of an open area so we flung the curtain over the top to trap them underground and then shoveled dirt around the edges to keep them under the curtain.
The next day there was a chewed up looking hole in the middle of the shower curtain the size of a tennis ball. I recall having a good dozen stings out of that disaster. Clearly the shower curtain was made by Acme.
are you shure the ones on my shower i tried to rip and they have quite a strech to them. and i use a blue tar right not and those seem to fray very easy as well. i think ill just go sil nylon
thnk you for the input

I believe it was Grandma Gatewood who hiked the Appalachian Trail with a shower curtain as her shelter.
Not all shower curtains are made from the same material. Some are plastic, others polyester, etc...
Using a shower curtain for a rain tarp . . .
. . . just seems . . .
well . . . counterintuitive . . . 2 me ana ways
