    Hanging on the Trail

    Hey Guys,

I have become an Avid hammock guy. Thanks to my good buddy and coworker. He (Terry_Dodson) has been my teacher of hammocks and hammock related fun. It seems like every time we go hiking together, he always throws up a hammock. That a good thing! So I am starting to do the same thing. This weekend was no exception. We hiked the north side of the Palmetto Trail-Awendaw passage all the way up to the canoe put in. The weather was great. The tree cover of the trail kept us cool and the breeze of the creek made it better. But were fully bug protected, so that was not an issue. When we got to the canoe put in it was Hammock time!!!!

The entire trip is a 6 part video, but the link below is just the one with the hammock hanging at the dock. If you just want to see the hammock hanging, it starts at about 6 min. 14 sec. of the video. Everything except for the hammock itself was DIY. I though Terry_Dodson half bugnet was cool!!!

    Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve Hang

Sunday,5-22-2011, I decided to hike Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve in Lexington, SC…..and you guessed it……Stopped and hung up the hammock for a few. They had benches on the trail, but who wants to sit on a hard bench when a soft comfy hammock is SOOOOOOO MUCHHHHH BETTERRRR!!!! Also decided to make a video with my new camera and I relax next to the Creek.

That is some beautiful country, looks like it'd be tough to move through if you didn't have a trail though. Thanks for bringing us along.

I have to ask, because you checked twice in the video; What kind of critters do you have to watch out for there?

At the beginning of his Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve video i think he says there is a sign there that says watch out for rattle snakes, water moccasin, and alligators

Well...I was next to the creek and that area is know for gators, cottonmouths & rattle snakes. Did not want any to sneak up on me.
