Bugs: You don't need me to make you look like a fool.
Yosemite Sam: Yer deerrrnnn right I don't!
I can't recall ever being bitten through any fabric of any kind. Not even my own clothes. They always get me on my bare skin.
I've never been bitten through any hammock (except maybe a mesh hammock when I was a kid). In two years, perhaps 40 nights per year, none through my 1.7 double layer. I was in some decent mosquitoes last week, with no underquilt. Still no bites.
I enjoy the 1.7 single layer without any treatment applied, usually in a single layer of light clothing and have yet to be bitten.
Wow, makes me even more excited to get my 1.7 dbl wbbb. I am guessing you are the expert Brandon, but from a sampling standpoint, seems the numbers say it all. I would encourage you to continue to focus on the real merits of your product and not some "contrived" problem that may not set you apart from others.
Very impressive responses.

Used Hennessy Explorer Deluxe (single layered hammock) and received multiple bites through fabric on my back one night. I switched to WBBB 1.1 double and so far no bottom bites even when sleeping shirtless and no insulation in or below hammock.
Permethrin solved the skeeter problem with my Hennessy.

I'm about to head out for a 2 week canoe trip in the Timmins area in Ontario. It is peak bug season from what I hear and will be trying out my 1.7dbl Blackbird for the first time...will post a review and if the bugs had success or not!
