    Lofty from Mansfield Ontario Canada

Hey, been lurking here awhile. but now time to say hi.
Been a ground dweller for years but now gonna try hanging.
after tons of reading I was going to attempt to make a hammock - but ended up ordering a WB Blackbird last week.

I'm just north of Toronto in Mansfield. Most from the city have never heard of it people are always asking - Where is that? I just say "up North"

    Hey Lofty

Welcome to the forums. There is a great group of Ontario Hangers on the site here. In fact we got back from the Ontario Spring Hang at Algonquin Park 1 week ago.

I have to admit I'd never heard of your town until I looked up on google maps. I think a better description would be "so many kms west of Barrie, Ontario". With Toronto being right on Lake Ontario, "North of Toronto" covers a lot of ground.

Have fun with your Warbonnet Blackbird. What do you have for a tarp so far?

    Cheers

    Brian

Hey Brian - It's fun to be vague when my customers ask where I live but if they persist I actually tell 'em I'm 80KM north of the Airport - (on airport rd)

As for tarp - I'm gonna use what I got for now - I have a 10x12 camo-poly tarp, I also have a silnylon poncho tarp - probally too small. I'm gonna dig out one of my Tents and grab the fly and try that too - the fly is 12x12 I believe (been awhile since I've used that tent)
Eventually I will get a proper tarp.

I am in ski country - I live next to mansfield ski club as well as Mansfield Outdoor Centre is just across the road from me(cross country skiing)

and your east coasters - We usually take a family road trip to Launching PEI (it's by Montague PEI) every summer. It's gonna be nice to have the hammock at the cottage this year....
