    n00b hanger from Utah

Hey guys, just dropping a line and saying hi. Been reading for a while here and decided to create an account since I took the plunge and ordered me a WBBB.

I've been an avid camper for a long time and love to fish up in the mountains. I've seen hammocks and never really gave them much thought till I talked to a buddy. He was all excited about getting a new HH. So of course, I started doing research. I've gone as far as to make 2 hammocks so far. Both are gather end hammocks. One out of a nice expensive bed sheet (wife was none too excited). I made it into a double and took an old windshield reflector and slid it in between. Worked great but was too short for me, but the kids loved it. I knew it was my alpha. Next I made one out of 1.9 ripstop. This one is 10.5' long and really haven't had a chance to test it out yet (made it last night).

Anyway, I eagerly await my WBBB 1.0 that I ordered on Monday.

Camping season is here and can't wait to do some real hanging.

Hope to be a convert for life

Welcome to the forum Scarab! Sounds like you have a great start; I suspect you're a lifer already and you don't even know it. Enjoy those Utah mountains, I know I always do!

That was my first hammock as well (and +1 on the too short).

Glad to have you on board. Lots of wonderful folk here, and now we're one stronger. I spent a few years in Provo/Orem--Utah's a great state to hang in. I look forward to hearing all your future adventures
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

Just so long as you do not have an omega.

I have driven thru your state several times over years. Lots of place to camp and hang there.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Welcome to HF. I think you will like the WBBB. I have a pair of them and really like them.
Camping season is here and I tried to get out Monday night but the T-storms settled in at Strawberry, so I called it quits.
Which mountains do you like to spend most of your time in? Uintas? Boulders? Manti-La Sal?

My longer camps are in the Uintas. I really like the Grandaddy Basin. This weekend I'll be at Strawberry doing some fishing.

    I'm in Eagle Mountain.

Glad there are so many friendly folks on here.

My latest hammock I made the other night was still a bit short for me. I'm 5'11" and the hammock is about 10.5". So I ended up putting it in my daughters room and she is sleeping on it now. Can't wait for her to wake up and give me her (9 year old) thoughts.
