    Gorge Rat Spring Gathering 2011

Last week I caught the tail end of The Gorge Rat Spring Hang. I went up Friday night and camped. Saturday Mornig I ran in to Muttly and enjoyed breakfast with him before setting off on an ambitious loop for an overnighter of Rock Jock > Conley > Linville Gorge Trail (S) > Pinch in.

Well I only made it throught the Rock Jock trail and Muttly and family were kind enough to let me crash the family campout at Lost Dog Camp. There I met his wife and two daughter. Let me tell you, if you ever get a chance to hang out with them, take it. It was an awesome evening and I have no regrets about not persuing the full hike that I had planned.

Here's some video clips I shot... Hope you enjoy

Hawkeye, it took me longer than I expected to do Rockjock, too. What's your take on the mileage?

Rockjock from the south trail head to the intersection at Conley is almost exactly 4.5 miles. The USFS map is way off mileage wise.

I'm glad you got to spend some time with Muttly et al. Those two young'uns are fun to visit!

Rock Jock can sure be hot on a feller! But the views are spectacular. As is the Gorge's style......it will snatch off your rear and make you go long for it.
Glad you had time to film.
Hickery and I stayed at Lost Dog Sunday night in the big lightning storm....Whoooooo Buddy.
I hope to get to my video soonest.
