    Like Christmas!

Today when I got home the mail man had left me three packages (technically the MacCat came yesterday but I was out of town).

One was a shiny new MacCat Deluxe in Coyote. A beautiful tarp.

Next was my Arrowhead Equipment order, which had a Jarbridge 1S UQ (woodland camo/coyote), Owyhee 1s TQ (woodland camo/coyote), tarp bag (safety orange), triangle thingies and another pair of 1" tree straps for the tarp.

Last in the mail were 4 Elephant Trunks!

I had added whoopie slings to my HH deluxe explorer last week before meeting up with JerryTheHiker and Farmer.Ron after picking up 100' of orange 7/64 amsteel blue, and had made another set for the MacCat.

The MacCat now has it's whoopies attached and is stuffed in the tarp bag.

The Elephant Trunks are pretty cool also, such a simple design, I can not wait to try them out.

Best part about the new toys is that I shaved 3lbs (ok 2.7) off my pack weight, I was using a Kelty light year xp40 for a top quilt, and a no-sew PLUQ, plus the surprising weight of the stock suspension. I shaved 24 oz alone just from removing the stock HH tarp and suspension.

All of the products are of fantastic quality. First use will be next week while meandering around the Red River Gorge area.

You'll like the elephant trunks. I love mine. Very cool piece of kit. Bloomgorge is awesome to deal with as well. I like whoopie slings but was never a fan of using the marlin spike hitch with it. Awesome selection of gear you got there.

Great gear. I have the elephant trunks as well and can't wait to put some real hours on them.
