    Question Reflectix or thermarest inflateable

OK, so Im going to head out this weekend for a quick overnighter in SoCal. from what i can tell, should only get down to about 50* and I am contemplating trying out a reflectix pad for the first time. Should i bring my selfinflating thermarest (taken that down to 30's) as a backup or you all think the reflectix will do just fine? I am using a Marmot Pinnicle (15*) as a top quilt fwiw. Thanks in advance for the advice!!

Would the extra weight and bulk of the thermarest be a problem? If not, no reason not to bring it just in case. A cold nights sleep is irritating even if it's only for one night. JMO

More so bulk then anything. This will be a bare bones trip goi g for light and fast. I was planning to pack the reflectix right where I usually keep my pad. But if I get the response saying that it may not be warm enough I will just take the therma and wait till summer to start testing the reflectix.

Haven't read a lot about how effective reflectix is so I agree it may be better to do a home test first.

The Reflectix will work to 50*. Make sure your piece is wide enough for your shoulders. Reflectix will squish out after a handful of uses - it won't last all that long. If you have a double-layer hammock, slide the reflectix between the layers. If you do get a cold butt, put your coat under it. And you can always zip up in your bag. Have fun!
