JUst came home from a sweaty night in the WBBB. Got to wondering how often you guys are cleaning your WBBB. AFter a certain number of uses or just when you can't stand the stink any more?

i only clean mine when it looks dirty, just a wipe down with some mild soap and water, i also store it with a dryer sheet if it is getting funky smelling
Never have....the stink gives me privacy and space!

To much time on your hands? Waste some time here
After a long trip or a couple short ones I throw the hammock W amsteel attached into a mesh bag and run it with other gear.
I LOVE using dryer sheets.
(a) it is a bug repellant
(b) 1-2 sheets will keep the hammock smelling 'fresh' for a whole week on the trail
(c) 1 or 2 fresh sheets when being stored between trips keeps the hammock fresh and not funky (and helps with any mildew on damp hammocks)
(d) I actually sleep better because my subconscious thinks I am at home.
Also, a couple of sheets tossed into my backpack keeps it from smelling funky too.
But to answer your question: I wash as necessary (but the dryer sheets delay the process).
I ride a recumbent.
I like to HAM it up on the CW.
I use Linux.
I play go.
Of course I sleep in a hammock!
Rug.
Hang On!
Actually, no it isn't. That myth has been debunked several times, both by Snopes and others. Not bounce, nor any other brand. If it works for you, fine, but that is not data. Dryer sheets are no better than B1, which is to say, not effective at all. DEET works best. Long sleeves and long pants work also.
I hang my hammock and other gear up for a day or two indoors upon return. Let's it all air out. No reason, yet, to wash it.
