hey guys just a heads up, Julie's grandmother (odd duck) is not doing well. If she dies before the trip there is a good chance that I will be out, since I will likely be doing the funeral myself. I will keep you posted but if I do bail I will give as much notice as I can.

+1 on this. Sorry to hear of this most unfortunate and untimely news about Odd_Duck's grandmother.

A little bump to get any last minute details ironed out. We're only about 16 days out.

I will be paddling the kayak on this one so I'm solo and set in the boat department. Dant8ro, Brantwing, Ryvr? and yours truly are coming from the same direction so there may be car pooling options there? I’m going to opt out on group meals, I’ve be dehydrating Ziploc meals lately . Due to the kayak, I’ll be going light in gear (weight and volume are factors) but, please let me know if any community or loaner gear is needed.

Here’s what my current gear list is looking like...Fall EGL Trip 2011

Hey guys Dan and Brantwing will be borrowing my Canoe for this whether I make it or not. I will be soloing either one of Tims Kayaks or another solo boat.

I too am out on the group meals, and Just and FYI Algonquin has instituted a new rule of no canned food in the park what so ever. Although I completely disagree with this I would suggest if you are gonna bring them anyway please clean them out crush them and burn them. Then pack them out and dont let the ranger see you.

On the front of me going so far so good Julies grandmother is still alive, although there has been no improvement in her condition.

At the risk of sounding flakey, there is a chance I might be able to attend. I'm sorry to be on and off and now back on but as all of you know, that's how life is when you have work and family obligations.

I know it's getting late so if I can't be fit in anywhere, I understand. When the plans get more solidified, let me know if there is room. Thanks everyone and sorry again for the change in plans.

Well I'm glad to hear that both Ryvr and Bubba are going to try to come out with us. We shouldn't have any problems with people on licenses, between mine and Shawnh's. [o]TTer's offered to get a third if necessary.

As for the "no can" rule, I was under the impression that cans and glass have been banned for decades. As far back as I can remember, cans weren't allowed... Does this mean I'm missed out on 30 years of canned pork brains in milk gravy??? No fair!!!

I just got a new dehydrator myself, so I'm more than fine with no group meals (but that Goulash WAS good). Let's agree that it's BYOF. That said, I'm still having steak (or something) the first night.

Group gear... Keep it minimal. I'm bringing an extra guide tarp and my axe and saw as usual, but I'd be much obliged if one of the gravity filter'ers would spare a gallon or two...

    Chard...
