to me it is the age factor

I know older folks are trying to keep up using technology (big article in the paper about that the other day) Guess I am not one of them...

When I am away from the computer the last thing I want to do is check email, check in on a website, or click on that block that will store things in your phone....of course you need to have a phone that does that

You could easily have a QR point to the donation area that would help convert members to donating members.

Or, cottage industries could use them in their tagline to drive people to their sites.

Or, they could create a QR for a special offer that would link directly to the purchase page.

    etc.

The difference between finding an app on the miscellaneous marketplaces and jumping directly to it from an interesting ad or article with a QR is night and day.

QR readers have enough following at this point that many new smart phones have pre-installed QR reader apps. They are also starting to find their way into magazine/pulp advertisements, quicker then having to type in a URL that takes you to a website, sale, whatever. I have seen them used for viral campaigns also for a couple of years, single QR pasted to a telephone pole at an intersection (which when scanned gives you the location of a bands gig, etc).

Keep your eye open for them they are more common then you think.
