Embed a small gps tracking device in the hammock material, perhaps at the gathered end. When they steal it, track them down and beat them with a whoopie sling (attach a strong carabiner for additional punishment). :-P

just wondering what peoples experience has been with car camping in campgrounds I'm going to be in hamilton county white river campground in Indiana while I'm in town for my brothers wedding before heading down to Hoosier NF sounds like i should take the hammock down every morning just to be safe huh
I hate to say it but unless im gonna be close by then I take it down because for some reason hammocks draw on lookers in. when I camp close to the trail I can hear people hiking by saying dang what is that? is that a hammock ? and id just rather be safe than sorry.
Dale Gribble: I'm thinking, "new hammock." For me, laying and swaying in a hammock is like a steady morphine drip without the risk of renal failure.
Randy : yea but just remember yer roots and where ya come from....you got Hennessy in yer blood son......
