You bet there are plenty of swimming holes, it would be a great place to go for a summer trip. Not to mention someone left a homemade fishing ploe at the site we stayed at the last night there.. I think I took a pic..I will post it when I get a chance. I also plan on doing another section of otter creek in the fall so I will post that portion's info and pics. I just recently found my pics from my dolly sods hike.. so I will post some of those pics as well and trail info too...
First time poster here but I've lurked for some time. I've been backpacking Otter Creek for 25 years and it's a great place. Looks like you hit it with some nice water in the creek. I'll echo what you say about McGowan Mt. Tr. It is one of the greenest places I've ever been. Now I just need to get a hammock and try it out. Tents, tarps and tipis are okay but Otter creek is ideally suited for a hammock.
