The shoe was found on the trail, we took it to the first trailhead we came to which was on the otter creek trail and mylius trail. Here is another one fording otter creek. WOW what a great time!!

thanks for the report, nice pics.
I will have to check the MNF trail map I picked up recently at the Cranberry visitor center to find the trails you were on.

    Trails

    Hey DavidWa

We started out at the mylius trail and took that to otter creek trail. We went south down otter creek trail to yellow creek, yellow creek to Mcgowan Mtn. trail which I have to say is awsome...the section form yellow creek to the top of Mcgowan Mtn was great..like something out of lord of the rings..moss covered everything, the ground was all spongey, trees roots exposed..just beautiful to look at...pics don't do it justice. From Mcgowan we went to Moore Run another great trail..be warned though the trail takes you through a bog area that can leave your feet wet if not careful. We wound back to the otter creek trail and took that south back to the mylius trail on they was out. This was a great trip as there was heavey rains the week before so otter creek was really flowing...which made fording all the better.

Thanks for the specific trail info as well as the great pictures. I've only been to Otter Creek once, and it's an area I want to get back to.

Several years ago in late June I took a bunch of teenagers to the OCW and we spent quite a bit of time in the creek. Many swimming holes! Good memories.

Four-O thanks for the trail info.

I will have to look it up on the map and while doing that add in the trails WV recommended to the Boy Scouts on another thread.

From the pics it looks like there ought to not only be some good swimming holes, but also some good fishing too. Looks open enough to wave around one of the longer tenkara poles.

Hopefully plenty of hammock friendly trees too. Now for the time and energy to be something more than an arm chair trekker.
